| Pharmacological action | Lavamisole is a broad-spectrum anthelmintic, mainly used to expel nematodes parasitic in livestock. Its main mechanism of action is to interfere with the energy metabolism of parasites, causing paralysis and death, and eventually being excreted by the host. Levamisole also has a certain immunomodulatory effect, which can enhance the host's immune response. |
| Indications: | It is used to treat digestive and respiratory nematode infections in livestock such as cattle, sheep, and pigs, including: Ascaris Hookworms Whipworms Lungworms Usage and Dosage Oral administration, the recommended dose is as follows: Cattle, sheep, pigs and other livestock: 7.5 mg levamisole per kilogram of body weight (i.e. 0.75 ml 10% levamisole oral solution per kilogram of body weight). Depending on the severity of the infection, the dose can be adjusted according to the advice of the veterinarian.
