Product Name: | 10% Iron Dextran Injection |
Properties: | This product is a brown to brown-black sterile solution without foreign matter. The liquid is uniform and suitable for intramuscular or intravenous injection. |
Function and Use: | It is used to prevent and treat iron deficiency anemia in livestock (mainly piglets). Iron is an important component of hemoglobin, myoglobin and various oxidases in animals. Iron deficiency can lead to reduced red blood cell production, which in turn causes iron deficiency anemia. This product supplements iron, quickly corrects anemia symptoms, promotes animal growth and development, and enhances immunity. |
[Applicable Animals: | It is mainly used for livestock, especially piglets, lambs, calves and other livestock cubs. |
Brand Name: | Tengmukeji |
Usage and Dosage: | Intramuscular injection: Piglets: 2-3 days after birth, the first injection is 1-2 mL (i.e. 100-200 mg iron), and it can be injected again after 2-4 weeks depending on the specific situation. Lamb/Calf: The specific dosage is determined by the veterinarian according to the body weight and iron deficiency, usually 5-10 mg iron per kilogram of body weight. Intravenous injection: Rare, it is performed by professional veterinarians for acute anemia. |
Precautions: | Injection site: Suitable for deep muscle injection, it is recommended to inject into the neck muscle or the posterior thigh muscle to reduce stress response. Allergic reaction: Before injection, the animal should be tested for allergic reaction, especially when used for the first time, and the animal's condition should be closely observed. Dosage control: Avoid overdose, which may cause iron poisoning, manifested as vomiting, diarrhea, dyspnea and other symptoms, which can be fatal in severe cases. Interaction: It should not be used at the same time as calcium-containing or phosphorus-containing drugs or supplements to avoid affecting iron absorption. Storage: It needs to be stored in a cool and dry place, away from direct sunlight. It should be used as soon as possible after opening to avoid contamination. |
Adverse reactions: | A few animals may experience slight swelling, nodules or pain at the injection site, which can generally be relieved by themselves. If a severe allergic reaction occurs (such as shortness of breath, shock, etc.), emergency measures should be taken immediately and use should be discontinued. |
Withdrawal period: | When used for slaughtering animals, stop using it at least 4 weeks after injection to avoid drug residues. |
Storage: | Keep sealed and away from light in a cool place (15-25ºC). |
Expiration date: | 2 years. Do not use after expiration. |
